Hello. My name is Randall Payleitner.
I am the Publisher (working alongside Acquisitions, Marketing, Sales, Editorial, and Creative) at Moody Publishers (a mid-sized Christian publishing house in Chicago). I am a follower of Jesus, husband, dad, son, brother, and friend.
Over the last 18 years, I have mostly done acquisitions, editorial, copywriting, and some marketing work. I love good books. And, I believe everyone is better off/gets smarter when they read more books--hence the tagline at the top of this page.
Publishing is an amazing and ever-changing industry... Here is a list of things that were either off or below the radar when I started in publishing in 2005: ebooks, social media, online retailing (as the primary source for buying), smartphones, tablets, blogs, print-on-demand, streaming video, etc. And, the words “swipe” “tag” and “follower” all meant something completely different! Come along with me as we explore the bold world of publishing in 2023 and beyond. To that end, I will generally post three types of things on this site:
